The modern man

While in the old days the true measure of a man was his long hair, beard, hairy chest and big muscles, today the situation has changed dramatically. These days, in addition to maintaining superb and flawless hygiene, it is considered undesirable for a man to have hair anywhere except his head and legs (just ask the majority of ladies). So, while hairy men would have been the belle’s of the ball back in the day, in modern times the situation is not very favorable for them. One particularly effective way of becoming more attractive or just feel better about themselves is to try laser hair removal.

Although it was first approved in the mid 1990s, laser hair removal procedures have truly come a long way since then. It is no secret that lasers of the older generation were very painful and slow and were also exclusive in terms of efficiency – they only worked on people with very light skin and very dark hair. However, since then technology has advanced considerably and today there are numerous types of lasers designed for different hair types, different skin tones etc. So, you can rest assure knowing that there are treatments available for everyone.

Just some of the various types of lasers out there today encompass:

  • IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) – primarily used for treating pigmentation problems of the skin, it is also used for the removal of hair. Most effective on people with dark hair and fair skin;
  • Nd: YAG laser – effective even on tanned skin, although it can be used for all skin types. Not to be used for light and fine hairs since it is not as effective as other lasers;
  • Diode laser – very safe for people with dark skin but provides increased discomfort and a greater expense, due to a longer treatment time;
  • Alexandrite laser – efficient on patients with olive and fair skin, the fastest laser for hair removal, characterized by a high repetition rate;
  • Ruby laser – the first laser to ever be introduced in the process of laser hair removal parramatta, suitable for lighter and finer hair, only to be used of light skin, but induces greater discomfort due to a slow repetition rate.
